Nikki Haley: “Clever girl”
Do you remember that scene from Jurassic Park when Robert Muldoon, the great hunter and park warden, the man who was supposed to keep everyone safe, faces off with the raptors and gets killed? Just in case you don’t, here’s a reminder:
Truth is, Muldoon got tricked by these creatures and paid the ultimate prize. The scientific name for the raptor is Velociraptor Mongolienis, or “swift thief”. They inhabited our planet some 70 million years ago but have made a remarkable reappearance in our time in the transformative shape of U.S. politicians, and a prime example today is one Nikki Haley.
Ms. Haley can claim on her resume the role of an American governor, ambassador and presidential hopeful. She may yet seek her way back as a candidate in 2028.
Ms. Haley is ever the opportunist and can speak out of both sides of her mouth with the best of them. Her word salad speak is masterful. For instance, one day she can bad mouth Donald Trump and the next carry on enduringly smug about him. It’s awful.
